Northwest Section Picnic 08.22.08 Update: Hi Northwest Section CD's! We have a location for the picnic! It is Fox Park in Laporte. We will be at Shelter 2 which has motorcycle friendly parking. We plan to meet around 11:30am and eat at 12:00pm. Attached is flyer with more information for you to put out to your members. We would also ask that as we get close to the date, if you would please give us an approximate head count. Since this is our first event, we aren't sure how many to plan for and we know you won't come back if we run out of ice cream! This is planned as a fun day to get together. 08.11.08 Greetings to all of IN District GWRRA NW Section CD's! It is hard to believe we are on the downswing for this summer's riding! It's been a busy one for us and from your newsletter information it looks like your chapters have been busy too! One thing that we wanted to do and haven't gotten achieved was to schedule a Northwest Section Picnic. After consulting with our new District Directors who really want to attend, we have set the date for Saturday, September 20th. We understand that with this short notice, there will be some that can't attend, but hopefully we'll still have a good turnout. We haven't found a location yet, but wanted to get this date out so as many as possible can put it on their calendar. We are looking for somewhere centrally located for all of the Northwest Section chapters, probably a park with a pavillion, hopefully at a nominal fee! If any of you have a suggestion, please let us know. Our plans are to start the day around 11:30 and eat around noon. This will be a "bring your own picnic". We'll provide drinks and ice cream. We'll also bring some family fun games and if any chapter would like to "step up" and plan a ride of the local area, that would be great! Our plans are open...we are hosting this for the section chapter members so that you have an opportunity to get together. Any suggestions for activities, besides lunch and ice cream, would be great.
