Niles & Debra Robinson
District Couple Of The Year (COY) 2010
Hello
all,
We are Niles and Deb Robinson from Marion Twp. Boone
County, Indiana. Where we live close to family and great friends of our home
Chapter A2 in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana. Joining Chapter A2 in 2000, making
us 10 year members of GWRRA. In 2005 we became Chapter Directors, of "The Purple
People". We have a 2004 "Corvette Red" 1800 Gold Wing and Bushtec trailer for
those longer rides.
Niles and I have just completed our 33rd year together
and working on the next. We were married just up the road at a small church that
Niles grew up in. Niles, is a born "Hoosier" from this area, and graduated from
Sheridan High School in 1974, working on the family farm, in 1980 he started,
what was to become a small trucking company, which still to this day is farm
related.
I was born and raised in our 50th state, Hawaii. I
graduated from Kailua High School in 1971 and in 1979 completed Nursing School
here in Indiana. In 2000 I decided to change a few things and needed more time
off, so I became a school bus driver for Westfield School Corp.
How did we meet? Niles was working for MY Family at the
time. I made a trip out to Indiana with my mother to visit a Great Aunt. My
Grandfather was born in Lebanon, IN.
We share our home with a 9 year old "Black Lab" named
Tucker. He does a lot of camping with the A2 Chapter and is well known in the
group. So, if you are out an about at a campground come by and visit,
Tucker...he has treats on the kitchen table of our 5th wheel. He will be your
best friend for a treat! We are both looking forward to this year as District
Couple of the Year, getting to know more of our state chapters and their Chapter
Couple.
Thanks to our Chapter for the honor of being COY for
them, and Thank you Indiana for a chance to enhance the COY program. |
