Steve Stilwell
District Motorist Awareness Division (MAD)

Hello,

I’m Steve Stilwell, your new Motorist Awareness Division (MAD) District Coordinator.  This is a new position in GWRRA and I am excited to be part of a fantastic new concept of promoting motorcyclist awareness and safety.

My wife, Sally and I have been with GWRRA and Indiana Chapter E since February 1994.  During past years, I’ve been the MED for Chapter E while Sally was the Newsletter Editor.  We were also Indiana Chapter E’s Couple of the Year for 1999.  We truly believe in GWRRA and all of the great programs it offers to members.

We currently ride a 2000 Pearl Blue GL 1500 SE.  Our first Goldwing was a 1994 SE 1500 teal blue that we bought before it went to the showroom floor.  Neither of us had ridden any type of motorcycle before.  Since we didn’t know anything about riding on a motorcycle, our first priority was to complete the basic riders course offered through ABATE.  Since then, Sally and I have taken the ERC course every year and are now Senior Master Tour Riders.

We have traveled all over the United States and Canada and have logged over 100,000 miles to date.  We have traveled to places that we would have never traveled to had we not gotten our Goldwing.

We have one daughter, Amy who many of you have already met.  I work in the shipping department for an international computer corporation.  Sally works for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service – Indianapolis Center.  We look forwarded to this great opportunity of being a part of your new District of Indiana Staff.

Remember this saying, “Ride Aware!”
Steve Stilwell
